• Back In Training

After a bad Chicago Marathon last October where I had to pull out of the race at 18 miles with dehydration, (probably due to the fact of the high dose of anti-infammatories I was on with my Sports Hernia) I took the rest of the year off running to let my sports Hernia heal.

I now have fully recovered and feel ready to build up again for maybe a marathon in June or July.

  • New York Road Mile Championships

I finished 4th in 4mins 12secs in the NYRR Mile Road Champs after a hard training session 3 hours beforehand.

This was a race i wanted to use as a training benefit for the Chicago Marathon in 3 weeks time.

  • Philly Half Marathon

On September 17th 2006 I competed in the fast Philly Distance Run and finished 20th in 65mins 41 secs after a 14min 40sec first 5km's.
I went out too hard but after recovering mid race I ran home strong.

This ended up being a good run for The Chicago Marathon on October 22nd.

  • Mets Run to Home Plate 5km

On the 29th of July I won the Mets race at Shea Stadium breaking my own course record from last year on a very hot day and a course with a lot of turns. I won in 14mins 52 secs.

A week later I finished 3rd in the Hope and Possibility 5 miler when deciding after the first mile to tempo the race, as I had very tired legs from 3 road races in 3 weeks.

  • 4 Mile race in Central Park

After not trusting my old Magic Racers (racing shoes) in The Grandmas Marathon 5 or 6 weeks ago in Duluth and having to pull out with the new shoes causing a problem I have managed to get back on track and won the Run For Central Park 4 miler on the 22nd of July by almost 2mins in hot humid conditions.
