Boston University Mini-meet #2 – Dec 19

Andrew Pitts put down a very strong 3rd place finish setting a PR in the mile 4:09:79 – superb run! A PR by 2 secs

Ted Corbitt 15k – Dec 12

Ana Johnson had another strong race finishing in 7th place with 57:08 – great run! Sharon Caspi ran another solid race and PRed in 1hr08mins47secs – nice one! Nicole Kiernan was next in 1hr10mins30secs followed by Charles Hansford in 1hr16mins47secs, Morgan Smith in 1hr24mins31secs and Ranna Smith in 1hr26mins28secs – great work!

Philadelphia Marathon – Nov 22

Congrats to Andrew Saunders on a new PR finishing strongly in 3:31:32 – superb run!

Save the Elephant 10k – Nov 22

Marc Bobrowsky had a great performance finishing 19th overall and winning his age group in 35:27 – great job!

Race to Deliver 4 miler – Nov 22

Christy Curth was first across the line in 27:27 for a 95 sec PR – congrats! Sharon Caspi has been focusing on mileage and strength but put up a strong performance with a 29:19 finish – nice! Next was Maria Quiroga finishing in 30:22 – nice job!

New York City Marathon – Nov 1

Descent weather for the marathon and no howling 40mph gusts this year! First home was Max Jahn in an impressive 2:43:40 – great job, Max! Next up was Liza Howard PRing and going sub-2:50 for the first time for 2:49:05. Liza had a very impressive stat sheet finishing 21st overall female and 1st New Yorker – fantastic achievement, Liza! Ana Johnson ran a strong race but a calf injury midway through the race caused some derailment. That said, Ana still ran a 2:56:15 – wow!! Malcolm Gray Ran comfortably under 3:10 for 3:07:32, which earns him a BQ – Nice running! Next up was Steve Wagshal crossing the line in 3:12:24 for his 15th time racing NYC. Steve is now has a lifetime guarantee for all future NYC marathon races – Congrats and nice race! Laura Kirk was close behind finishing in 3:14:40 – good job! Melodie Fratt finished strongly in 3:23:14 with Charles Hansford in 3:24:29 and Doni & David Davies crossing the line together in 3:29:55 – superb stuff! Denise Peterson just missed out on sub 3:30 with a 3:30:35 finish with Maria Quiroga next breaking 3:40 in 3:39:57 – great running ladies! Eliza Golden ran a solid 3:42:19 followed by Courtney Buckley in 3:52:31, Beth Browde 4:41:58 and Rosemary Mulia just missing sub-5 with a 5:00:44 finish – great effort!

Philly Rock ‘n’ Roll Half – Oct 31

Kelly De Csepel delivered a stellar race in Philly shaving off a whole minute for a new PR closing out in 1:18:17 – superb race!

Dash to the Finish Line 5k – Oct 31

Andrew Pitts is still a few weeks away from hitting top gear but put away a strong performance finishing in 16:01 and 4th in his AG – good job! Melissa Ackermann, finishing 2nd in her AG came home in 19:29 – nice! Next up was Morgan Smith in 25:30 followed by Margaret Moosbrugger in 26:47 and Harley Hanrahan in 26:51 – nice work ladies! Daniel Torras was the sixth Hound home in 35:02.

Poland Spring 5 Miler – Oct 25

The NYC marathon week kicked off with the Poland Sprint 5 miler. Adam Mulia ran a strong race as he looks to rediscover his top racing gears. Great job on 12th overall and winning his AG in 28:23! Morgan Smith had another solid race finishing PRing 38:58 – good stuff! Courtney Buckley who is just coming off an injury had a great day with a finish of 39:18 – superb! Rounding out the Hounds was Rosemary Mulia who continues to show who’s boss in winning her AG again in 46:05 – awesome!

River Thames Half (UK) – Oct 18

Cynthia Martinez continued her globetrotting to the UK and hit a PR for 1:31:45 – great run, Cynthia. Sub 1:30 is calling your name!

Staten Island Half – Oct 11

A slight adjustment to the SI half course this year, though those steep and challenging inclines remain. First over the finish line was Charles Hansford slaying his PR by over 7mins for 1:33:40! Charles set a 1min PR in May this year and to slash this amount off his PR in 5 months is incredible – hat tip! Next up was Sharon Caspi who is in PR shape, but a tough couple of weeks leading up to this race was enough to just miss a PR. A very strong race though with a 1:37:36! Morgan smith for next to finish in 1:51:32, followed by Rosemary Mulia in 2:14:16 for 2nd in her AG – nice running ladies!

Chicago Marathon – Oct 11

Tony Scott ran a solid first half but the disruption to the high mileage weeks in the 2 months prior to race day showed in the second half of the race. Bad cramps set in from mile 16 to the point leaving Tony having to walk/ run the last 10k. Not the race that Tony had in mind but still managed to squeak under 3hrs with 2:59:52 – great effort!

Brooklyn Rock n Roll Half – Oct 10

Congrats to Andrew Saunders on a new PR finishing strongly in 1:40:30 – awesome!

Grete’s Great Gallop – Oct 4

This race is generally a marker as to how far some have come with their summer training in prep for a fall marathon. First off, congrats to the women’s team placing 2nd overall and 3 ladies finishing in the top 10! First home for the team was Max Jahn, putting down his fastest race yet in CP in 1:17:45 – wow! Liza Howard continues to get faster finishing 3rd overall and hitting sub-1:20 for the first time in 1:19:43 – Awesome running! Ana Johnson threw it down and ran an amazing race too for 1:20:24 – Incredible to think Ana just gave birth to her 2nd child 4 months ago! Kelly De Csepel was next to finish strongly in 1:21:56 – nice! Laura Kirk came home next finishing her fastest half since 2011 in 1:26:06 – great job! Another PR, this time for Steve Wagshal chipping 7secs of his previous best with a 1:27:29 – awesome! Ann Powers rounded was next in a 1:55 PR for 1:29:00 – superb run, Ann! Next up was Denise Peterson in 1:37:40, Cynthia Martinez 1:38:27 and Melodie Fratt in 1:38:29 – great running ladies! Eliza Golden came home next finishing strongly for a 5sec PR for 1:40:22 – great run! There were also solid runs from Christina Bilsky finished in 1:42:29, Maria Quiroga 1:43:34, Faith Paris 1:47:35 and Morgan Smith in 1:47:58, Charles Hansford 1:51:43, Courtney Buckley 1:54:59 and Beth Browde 1:59:53.

Bronx 10-mile – Sep 27

Fantastic weather for this fast course today! First up was Charles Hansford in 1:15 flat – great run, Charles! Next up was Morgan Smith in 1:20:15, Courtney Buckley in 1:26:29 and Rosemary Mulia in 1:36:57 for 3rd in her AG – great job all!

2015 TCS Marathon Tune-Up – Sep 20

A few Hounds used this tune-up as a 9+1 qualifier and to cover their long run. Steve Wagshal clocked 2:09:28, followed by Melodie Fratt in 2:11:46 – nice job! Eliza Golden finished in 2:28:11 followed by Beth Browde in 2:51:42 – good stuff ladies!

5th Ave Mile – Sep 13

First home was Kelly Chin setting a new PR for 5:08 – nice one! Next up was Cynthia Martinez with a huge 37sec PR for 5:37 – incredible! Melodie Fratt was next to cross the line in 6:11, followed by strong runs from Sharon Caspi in 6:13 and Charles Hansford in 7:14 – great stuff!

Magnificent Mile Chicago Women’s Half – Sep 6

Elizabeth Dorgan ran a whopping 9:52 PR for 2:00:03! Tremendous effort and so close to cracking the 2hr barrier!

Chippenham Half (UK) – Sep 6

Tony Scott flew to the UK for his final tune up for Chicago and equaled his half PR with a 1:20:26 and 14th overall! Tony was shifting for the first 10miles besting his 10k, 15k, and 10 mile PRs before coming unstuck in a 1.2 mile hill from mile 11. Stellar effort though!

France Run 8k – Aug 29

Eric Weldzius continues his good form finishing in 30:11 – nice run! Ana Johnson was next winning her AG in 31:44 – awesome! Next up was Eliza Golden in 37:22 – nice race! Harley Hanrahan was next across the line in 43:49 followed by Margaret Moosbrugger in 46:19 – great work!

Percy Sutton Harlem 5k Run – Aug 22

Only 2 hounds representing in this race but 2 PRs! First in was Tony Scott with a 29sec PR for 17:44 (5:43 pace) – nice job! Following up was new HH team member, Sharon Caspi with a 17sec PR finishing in 21:40 and breaking 7min p/mile for the first time – Awesome work!

2015 R-U-N 5k – Aug 6

Bringing home the team was first place female, Kelly De Csepel in 17:45 (5:43 pace) – great job and congrats on the win, Kelly! Next up was Maria Quiroga with a strong race in 23:38 – nice one! Unfortunately for Maria, she had to stop during the race to tie her shoelaces twice, otherwise it would have been a PR. Morgan Smith finished next in 24:40 followed by Margaret Moosbrugger with a 3m59s PR – wow! Rosemary Mulia was next in crossing the line in 29:30 for 2nd in her AG – Solid run!

NYRR Team Championships 5-miler (women) – Aug 1

First off, congrats to the women’s team for placing 11th team overall! First home was Liza Howard in 29:37 for 6th placed overall – superb!  Laura Kirk came in next in 31:56 – nice run!  Cynthia Martinez continued her good form with a whopping 2min PR for 34:32 – awesome!  It was a tough day for Kelly De Csepel with bad cramp coming home in 34:55 – nice effort, Kelly! Melodie Fratt then crossed the line in 37:44 followed by Eliza Golden in 38:32, Faith Paris in 39:22 and Maria Quiroga in 39:32 – great running ladies!  Next up with a 2:07 PR and 3rd in her AG was Beth Browde in 43:03 – wow!  Tamara Hoover then finished in 43:27 with Lillie Brinkman in 44:06 – sterling effort everyone!

NYRR Team Championships 5-miler (men) – Aug 1

Crossing the line first for the men was Tony Scott for another PR in 29:26 – Great run!  Max Jahn was next up dipping under 30min in 29:56 – nice one, Max! Eric Weldzius was next across the line in 30:45 – awesome!  Edwin Chao hit a PR with a 32:20 finish – nice job!  Jo Di Flumeri ran this as part of a long run and crossed the finish in 34:40 followed by Andrew Saunders in 38:52 and Joe Pomianowski in 39:37 – great effort all!

Boomer’s Run to Breathe 4-miler – Jul 18

First home was Edwin Chao in 25:26 for a 41sec PR – great run, Edwin!  Next up was Joe Pomianowski in 29:37 – nice effort, Joe!  Eliza Golden crossed the line in 30:22 with Charles Hansford a finishing a few yards behind in 30:36 – good work!

NYRR Tue Night Speed Series – Jul 7

3200: Strong running from Bonnie Averbuch with a 11:48.52 (5:56 pace) – nice!

Mixed DMR: Finishing 5th overall was the HH men’s (Adam Mulia, Tony Scott, Bryan Kob and Andres Soler) in 12:25 – nice effort guys!  The HH women’s team (Liza Hoard, Kelly De Csepel, Bonnie Averbuch and Laura Kirk) placed 12th overall in 13:23 – nice running ladies!

Achilles Hope and Possibility 5-miler – Jun 28

Margaret Moosbrugger equaled her CP PR for the 5 mile distance with a 46:37 finish – nice job!

Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run 5-miler – Jun 27

Unusually refreshing weather for this race with temps in the low 60s.  First home for the HHs and 3rd overall lady was Kelly De Csepel in 29:47 – looks like Kelly is beginning to find her racing stride again.  Awesome run!  Next up was Denise Peterson in 36:07 for 5th in her AG – nice!

Queens 10k – June 21

It was predicted to be a morning of thunder and lightning with a heavy downpour.  This resulted in the start time being moved an hour later so it ended up being a very humid experience for those that raced.  Leading the way was, Tony Scott with 37:39 for a 33sec PR.  This is Tony’s 10th PR this year – superb run! Eric Weldzius was next finishing with a strong 39:09 – nice one, Eric!  Charles Hansford then crossed the line in 44:35 for a 74sec PR – wow!  Next was Melodie Fratt for 46:30 then Rosemary Mulia in 1:03:26 – nice running ladies!

Oakley New York Mini 10k – June 13

Another hot day for racing with temps at 77f!  First home was Kelly De Csepel in 39:03 – nice!  Next was Melodie Fratt in 47:04 followed by Courtney Buckley in 50:51 – nice running!  Tamara Hoover was next in 53:40 then Maria Quiroga just missing the hour mark with 1:00:41 – nice effort from all of you!

UAE Healthy Kidney 10k – May 30

It was a very hot day with a later start than usual of 9am.  First home was Charles Hansford slashing 1m18secs from his previous best 10k for a 45:49 finish – wow!   Next was Harley Hanrahan who came 4th in her AG finishing in 52:22 – great run, Harley!  Katherine Brown was next up in 53:32 – nice!  Next to follow was Michael Darling in 53:35 and Margaret Moosbrugger in 62:03 – great job!

Airbnb Brooklyn Half – May 16

Great turnout from the team for one of the best races on the calendar!  Antony Scott after just coming off the Boston marathon was able to quadruple PR (10k, 15k, 10m and 1/2) besting his half by 11secs to finish in 1:20:26 – amazing!  Eric Weldzius finished next setting a 41sec PR in 1:21:36 – nice one, Eric!  After a full 2 weeks of rest post Boston, Liza Howard put away a 1:24:20 on only 10 days of training – great job!  Ed Hartman took charge of leading the 1:25 pace group crossing the line in 1:24:20 – nice!  Bonnie Averbuch crossed the line next in 1:25:43 followed by Laura Kirk in 1:27:13 and Kelly De Csepel in 1:27:23 – great running ladies!  Bryan Kob has been dealing with injuries of late and ran this as a tempo in 1:28:40.  Naomi Nocera was 4secs away from breaking her half PR with a 1:32:45 – so close!  Cynthia Martinez was next to finish with a PR of over 2mins for 1:33:43 – superb! Next was Denise Peterson in 1:35:31, Ann Powers in 1:37:45, Adam Mulia (who was pacing his wife) in 1:38:32 and Eliza Golden in 2:22 – great running! David Leis was next up with a PR of 9secs for 1:40:32 – Awesome! Charles Hansford also set a PR of 63secs for 1:41:07 – great run!  Maria Quiroga followed in 1:41:47 for a 2:14 PR – great running, Maria!  Christina Bilsky was next crossing the line in 1:41:52, followed by Melodie Fratt in 1:43:29 and Courtney Buckley set a 1:14 PR with a 1:45:27 finish – nice! Faith Paris Aarons finished next in 1:47:28, Andrew Saunders in 1:51:04, Tamara Hoover in 1:53:44, Michael Darling in 1:55:36, Beth Browde in 1:56:11, Ranna Smith in 2:00:50, Morgan Smith in 2:02:56 and Rosemary Mulia in 2:12:44.  Super running from everyone!

The North Face Endurance Challenge: New York (Half) – May 2nd

David Leis ran this very tough race, which has an approximate net elevation of 2,300ft!!! Great job on pulling out a 2:31:03!

Run As One 4-miler – April 26th

Eliza Golden produced another PR shaving 8secs from her previous best for a 28:42 finish – great run!  Harley Hanrahan had another strong run finishing 2nd in her AG in 32:35 – nice! And Rosemary Mulia finished with a solid performance in 38:42 – well done!

Boston Marathon – April 20th

Very nice temperatures for running, but a tough day awaited with rain and 20-30mph gusty winds.  Coming home in a 6min PR was Ed Hartman in 2:45:21 – superb run!  Liza Howard continues to amaze with her 4th PR in 4 marathons crossing the line in 2:50:32 (2min PR) – awesome job!  Next up, Antony Scott put away a huge 7min PR finishing in 2:51:33 – wow!  Melodie Fratt was next running a solid 3:31:50 – fantastic running from all 4 of you!

More/ Fitness/ Shape Women’s Half Marathon – April 19th

Bonnie Averbuch followed her recent win with a 4th place finish overall and winning her AG with a 1:25:04 (6:30 p/mile) – awesome running!  Laura Kirk also had a strong performance today finishing 10th overall and 2nd in her AG with a 1:30:30 (6:55 pace) – super!  Next home was Cynthia Martinez coming 7th in her AG for 1:39:29 (7:36 pace) followed by Faith Paris Aarons in 1:52:52 (8:37 pace) – congratulations to all of you!

Run for the Parks 4-miler – Apr 12th

First home was Eliza Golden with a 2sec PR in 28:50 (7:13 pace) – nice job!  Harley Hanrahan was next up in 32:14 for 5th in her AG followed by Katherine Brown in 35:20 – great work ladies!

Scotland Run 10k – Apr 4th

Maybe it’s because the Scotland flag is blue that we continually see beautiful clear blue skies for this popular race.  Eric Weldzius was the first hound home in 37:16 (6:00 p/mile) for a PR by almost 2mins – nice!  Katarina Janosikova was next in 38:05 (6:08 p/mile) for 3rd in her age group – great job! Denise Peterson was next at 7:19 pace for a 45:25 finish followed by Melodie Fratt in 45:41 (7:22 p/mile) – nice!  After a 31sec PR in last week’s 10k, Courtney Buckley stormed home in a 66sec PR, crossing the line in 47:24 (7:38 pace) – superb job!  Eliza Golden was next to finish in 48:40 (7:50 pace), followed by Michael Darling dipping under 50mins for 49:37 (8min p/mile), Harley Hanrahan 51:18 (8:16 pace) and yet another PR for Beth Browde coming home 2nd in her AG with a 53:06 (8:33 pace) finish, shaving 27secs of her previous best.  Super effort from everyone!

NYRR 10k Spring Meltdown – Mar 29th

Comfortable weather with sunny blue skies was all that was needed for a team sweep!  Ed Hartman was able to put distance between himself and the chasing pack through the first 5 miles before closing out strongly over the final stretch to finish in 36:06 (5:49 pace) for the men’s title.  The previous day, Ed ran a 23-miler!  Superb job and congrats on your win, Ed!!  Next home and taking the women’s title was Bonnie Averbuch.  Bonnie broke the tape in 38:53 (6:16 pace) well over a minute ahead of her closest rival – fantastic win, Bonnie!!  Rounding of the team was Courtney Buckley cruising over the finish line in 48:30 (7:49 pace) for a 31sec PR – awesome!

United Airlines NYC Half – Mar 15th

Great race weather for one of NYRR’s biggest races of the year.  Leading the way was Adam Mulia in 1:17:35 followed by Ed Hartman just missing out on sub-1:18 by 11secs – nice racing guys!  Next up was Bryan Kob with a whopping 7min PR with 1:19:16 – awesome!  Antony Scott was at it again setting 4 PRs in the 10k, 15k, 10mile and a 2.5min PR for the half for a 1:20:37 finish – superb run! Liza Howard crossed the line next in 1:21:22 followed by Eric Weldzius in 1:22:16 – nice one, Eric!  Next home was David Davies coming in under 90mins for a 1:28:43 -sweet!  Denise Peterson was next in 1:37:12, then Christina Bilsky in 1:43:01 followed by Morgan Smith setting a huge 4min PR for 1:43:27 – great job ladies!  Charles Hansford crossed the line in 1:44:07, Maria Quiroga 1:44:41, Melodie Fratt 1:44:42, Nikki Nolan 1:47:02, Courtney Buckley 1:48:12, and in setting another PR, Beth Browde sliced a massive 4mins off her best crossing the  line in 1:54:57 – awesome! Harley Hanrahan was next in 1:57:04 and Rosemary Mulia in 2:21:39 super effort!

LA Marathon – Mar 15th

After getting sick the week before race day and racing in temps in the mid 80s, Kelly De Csepel threw down a sub 3hr time with 2:59:11 – great run, Kelly!

Rock ‘n’ Roll DC Half – Mar 14th

Bill Sheil rocked his race with a PR in 1:52:06 – nice one!

Washington Heights Salsa, Blues, and Shamrocks 5k – Mar 1st

Conditions were fresh for this very fast and popular race.  First hound home was Antony Scott in his first race back from injury, finishing in 18:25 (5:56 p/mile) – nice one, Antony!  Katarina Janosikova continues to get quicker with a 18:44 (6:02 p/mile) finish – great job!  Next up was Bonnie Averbuch dipping under 19mins in 18:52 – awesome!  4th hound home was Ivan Kayser in 20:19 (6:33 p/mile) followed by Denise Peterson for a 724 pace (22:57).  Katherine Brown was next to cross the line in 23:23 (7:32 p/mile) and Beth Browde ran a steady 8:28 pace for 26:14.

AL Gordon Classis 4 miler – Feb 21st

Ed Hartman raced a strong 5:46 pace to finish in 23:03 for 2nd in his age group and 12th overall – Super!

NYRR Gridiron 4 miler – Feb 1st

Katarina Janosikova continues to work on building her speed back up with a nice 24:56 finish and 7th lady home.  Eliza Golden ran a solid race finishing in 30:21.  Nice job ladies!

Fred Lebow Manhattan Half – Jan 25th

Another very cool day for racing with real-feel temps in the 20s!  First home for the hounds was Kelly De Csepel who is rediscovering her racing touch – 6:15 pace for a 1:21:43 finish and 3rd lady overall – awesome!  Next up was Ed Hartman cruising the race as part of a 2hr long run clocking 1:26:24 for a 6:36 pace.  Eric Weldzius was up next with a 1:28:02 – nice!  Ivan Kayser was the 4th hound home in 1:38:19 followed by Katherine Brown in 1:46:46, Courtney Buckley 1:47:38, Melodie Fratt 1:47:48 and Charles Hansford 1:48:25.  Great job team!

Le 10km du 14ème (France) – Jan 25th

Coming though some cobbled stone portions of this 10k, Liza Howard was the 1st lady home in 37:30 for a 6:02 pace!  Nice win, Liza – superb job!

Key West Half Marathon – Jan 18th

Cynthia Martinez had a nice showing in Florida winning her AG with a 1:38:21 finish – great job!

Joe Kleinerman 10km – Jan 10th

A solid showing from the Hounds on a very cool, snowy and sunny morning.  Leading the way for team was Eric Weldzius at a 6:21 per mile pace . Then came Beth Browde winning her age group with an 8:41 pace – nice!  Ranna Smith was next home finishing with a 9:06 pace followed by Courtney Buckley at 9:11 pace and Charles Hansford dipping under the hour mark with a 9:35 pace.  Great job team!
