To say that working with John has been a game-changer would be an understatement.
I first contacted John at the end of 2016, having gotten back into what I considered good shape, a little over 2 years after moving to New York.
I’d been running with a team and had clocked a 1:24 half at Staten Island but felt I needed something new to help me progress further.
The difference with John is that he not only teaches you the physical—personalized training plans + group sessions—but instills within you the confidence and mental toughness required to really push on. I’ve learnt as much about training and different workouts as I have about the psychological aspects of the sport.
A little over 18 months in and I’ve knocked 45mins off my marathon time—from 3:38 to 2:53—and 6mins off my half marathon time—from 1:24 to 1:18. But this is just the beginning and I’m looking forward to many more PRs.
Beyond this, I’ve also built out a great network of runners and have formed a invaluable long-run workout group who have fast become close friends and a regular staple in my running week.
